Gromko US Navy World War II Jul 25, 1914 - Oct 12, 1988 OBITUARY Hank B. Gromko Henry (Hank) B. Gromko, of Charlevoix and Jupiter, Fla., died Oct. 12, 1988 at Little Traverse Division, Northern Michigan Hospitals. Funeral mass was Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Marys Church. The Rev. James K. Gardiner officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Gromko was born July 25, 1914, in Norwich, Conn. He was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. His wife, Mary, whom he married in Atlanta, Ga. in 1955, preceded him in death in 1981. Mr. Gromko was a member of the Norwich Golf Club and a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Norwich. He was also an active golfer in the Charlevoix area. For the past five years, Mr. Gromko spent his summers in Charlevoix and the winter months in Jupiter, Fla. He is survived by: one sister, Mrs. Louise Morwich of Ledyard, Conn.; one brother, Edward Gromko of Canterbury, Conn.; a close friend, Minnie Burke of Charlevoix. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by the Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix.
