FRED SMITH
1842 - 1912

Additional Comments:
Fred Smith was born Friedrich Schmidt in Hanover Germany on 18 Dec 
1842,immigrated to Wisconsin in 1849, was in the Civil War from 8 Aug 1862 
until 22 Jul 1865.  His parents were William and Fredericke Schmidt.  Fred 
married (1)on 4 Nov 1866 in Sheboygan, WI to Wilhelmine Schultz.  Wilhelmine 
died 1 May 1872 in Sheboygan, WI.  Fred married (2) Henrietta Klemme on 15 Oct 
1872 in Sheboygan, WI.  Henrietta was born 11 Sep 1846 in Lippe-Detmold, 
Germany and died 11 Mar 1936 in Hayes Township, Charelevoix County, MI.  Fred 
died 21 Dec 1912 in Hayes Township, Charlevoix County, MI.  Both are buried in 
Undine Cemetery with four of their sons.  Fred and Henrietta are my great 
grandparents.
