Chas. Sharbineau has been arrested and jailed on suspicion and other arrests may follow. Sharbineau and Kemp drank freely and both were seen together late on the night of the murder badly intoxicated, and prints of rubber shoes near where the body was found correspond with those Sharbineau wore that night. Bruises were found on the body and face, but they may have been caused by the action of the water while the body was lying on the bottom of the river. The physicians have made a thorough examination of the body and lungs and say that Kemp was dead before he was thrown into the river. This established the fact that he was murdered, but by whom is not and may never be known.
