He was born in Quebec, Canada, died 19 Jan 1925, at the home of his eldest child, Nora Neelis, in Cheboygan, MI. He married Ezoa Charette 29 Jun 1874 at St. Felicite Church in Clarence Creek, Ont. Canada. They moved to Cheboygan Co., sometime before the birth of their first child, Nora, in Apr 1875. Ezoa (Zoe`) Charette b:3 Dec 1855 Prescott, Ontario, Canada. d:27 Feb 1926 Cheboygan, MI. Family history states that she died while making bread at the home of her son, Julius. Additional Comments: Tessier was the surname of all of Joseph's ancestors and siblings. The name was changed, in Michigan, in the 1920's and no one knows the exact reason. LaVigne means of the vine and the Tessier's had vineyards in France. Their original ancestor was Urbain LaVigne Tessier, who arrived from France in the 1600's and helped settle Villa Marie, which is now Montreal, Quebec, Canada File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/cheboygan/photos/tombstones/calvary/lavigne84552nph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
