Previously registered as Ashmun Hill Cemetery, this very old cemetery recently
has undergone a beautiful tranformation from a cemetery that had been badly
neglected to one that the City of Sault Ste. Marie and it's residents can be
proud of.   

Additional Comments:
For this restoration many of the stones had apparently been cataloged and put
into storage, old dead and dying trees were removed, the sidewalks repaired,
graves brought up to grade and finally a beautiful wrought iron fence with
entrance arch was installed to separate the I75 Business spur from the Cemetery
grounds.  Many of the stones have also been repaired and as of this date, work
continues to reinstall them in their proper location.
