Services Held Wednesday

Ernest Clarence Allen was born January 20, 1899 in Sheridan Township, Clare 
County, the son of Albert and Mary Allen and passed away suddenly at his home 
September 11, at the age of 61.

He had spent his entire life in Clare County on the farm, and also had been 
employed at the Clare Manufacturing Company for the past seven years.

On September 4, 1924, he was married to Lelah Teale, and they were the parents 
of seven children, one of which passed away in infancy in 1939.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Lelah; three sons, Kenneth of Sanford, Max 
and Russel of Clare; three daughters, Mrs. Naomi Roller and Mrs. Laurel 
Hildebrandt of Clare, and Mrs. Lelah Dwyer of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren, 
also two sistersa, Mrs. Ida Gerow and Mrs. Bertha Credit of Clare; one brother 
Lester of Coleman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arthur 
Center Church of God, with the Rev. Elza Beery officiating.  Interment was in 
Arthur Cemetery.

Relatives attended from Detroit, Clarkston, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Marlette, 
Flint and St. Louis.
