Lucille was born September 3, 1913 in Witt, Illinois the daughter of John and Minnie (Ghiardi) Davit. Mrs. Austin had resided in Harrison from 1946, until moving to Farwell in 1990. Lucille M. Davit was united in marriage to Omar D. Austin October 5, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Lucille, her husband Omar, her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Leonard Baker, owned and operated the Surrey House Restaurant in Harrison from 1952 until 1973. Lucille was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison and a member of the VFW Post 1075 Auxiliary, Harrison. Surviving are her husband Omar of Farwell; one daughter Judith Ann Bauer, also of Farwell, a grandson, Chad Bauer and wife Stacy, Farwell; two greatgrandchildren, Cody Omar Bauer and Kirsten Jean Bauer, also of Farwell; one sister, Dorena Fullerton of Phoenix, Arizona plus other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 10, 1999, at 11:00 am from Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison, with pastor Timothy Petersen officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison, Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan.
