'CLARE' "Shiawasee Native, Mrs. William ARNOLD, dies at Clare home".
Mrs. William ARNOLD, 78, died Friday morning at her State Street home after a week's 
illness. Funeral services will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Doherty Funeral Home 
with the Rev. L.J. Nevins officiating and burial in the Coleman Cemetery. Nettie 
LACKEY was born 6 August 1871 in Shiawassee County. In 1888 she married Oscar 
BOWEN. They came to Clare County in 1935 where he died a short time later. Mrs. 
BOWEN later married Thomas BOLEN. He died nine years later. In 1948 she married 
William ARNOLD. She leaves her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Albert AUBE, two sons, 
Frank BOWEN of Clare and James BOWEN of Muskegon, one brother, William 
LACKEY of Midland, one sister, Mrs. Clara BOWEN of Lostine, Oregon; 14 
grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild."
