Beck, age 9l, of Clare (formerly of Scotville) passed away on Thursday, July 29 at Shamrock Manor in Clare. She was born the daughter of Jacob and Joanna (Niedzwieck) Bednarek on Feb. 23, 1908, in Manistee. She married William "Larry" Beck on November 27, 1930 in Muskegon. They owned and operated the Gambles Store in Scotville until their retirement in 1986. They moved back to Clare following their retirement. She enjoyed Bowling and Golfing, and was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Clare, where she had been a member of the Home and School Guide. Irene is survived by her husband William Lawrence Beck, daughters: Rita and Thomas Murphy of Clare, Kay L. and John Hemmer of Ludington, daughter-in-law Virginia Beck of Clare; sisters; Helen VanderTill and Isabella Orchard both of Muskegon, l6 grandchildren and l5 great grand children. She was preceeded in death of three sons: Joseph, L. Robert, and Dennis. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 2 at ll a.m. from the St. Cecilia Church in Clare, a Scripture service was held a the funeral home on Sun. at 8:30p.m.
