Rodney was born September 15, 1947, in Dexter, Missouri, the son of Lildon and Alva (Lingo) Beckham. Mr. Beckham had resided in the Harrison area since 1996, moving from Clare. He was united in marriage to Sandra L. Mullen twenty seven years ago, renewing their vows in Church on April 4, 1994. Rod was a veteran of Viet Nam, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Clare, Michigan. Surviving are his wife, Sandra of Harrison, one daughter Tracey Peacock and husband Leonard of Harrison, two sons; Rodney Beckham and wife Nico of Detroit and Ton Rodriguez and girlfriend Dawn Crooks of Hazel Park, three grandchildren, Bryan Beckham and Alex and Natasha Peacock, his step-mother, Shirley Beckham of Manistee, three brothers; John Beckham of Riverview, Robert Beckham and wife Sonia of Morrison, Colorado, and Thomas Beckham; two sisters, Becky Witt of New York and Kim Schaffer and husband Mark of South Lyon, his brother-in-law, Frank McClain of Harrison, two sisters-in-law, Lorene Layou and husband Charles and Jacqueline Muniz of Houston, Texas, plus other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 24, 1998, at ll:00 am from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Father Stephen Fillion officiating. Interment was in Hamilton Township Cemetery, Clare County. Michigan Military honors were conducted by officers and members of the VFW Post 1075 Harrison, Michigan.
