Kenneth E. Bolen, age 78, of Farwell, passed away Thursday, October l,
1998, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Clare.  He was born the son of
Edward K. and Mary Leila (Gordon) Bolen on March 13, 1920 in Vernon
Township.  He married Etta Mae Dennison on October 11, 1942, in Mt.
Pleasant.  He was a retired farmer and spent his life on the farm where
he was born.
     Mr. Bolen is survived by his wife Etta Mae, daughters; Linda and
Jack Miller of Farwell, Maetta and Tim Henry of Hillsdale, Marla and Dan
Mcguire of Petoskey, and Sharon and Ken Pelchat of South Lyon, and a
sister Iona and Bill Wood of Farwell.  Also surviving are 12
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
     Funeral services were held on Saturday Ocober 3, at 2:00 pm from the
Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare, with Pastor Casey Smith
officiating.  Burial was in the Surrey Township Cemetery.  Memorials
may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Love Light tree
at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Clare.
