Benson, age 80 of Clare, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 1998 in Lakeport, Fla. Ardyth was born the son of E,.A. and Ada (Miller) Benson on September 18, 1918 in Rock Lake, North Dakota. He married the former Manila R. Ballard on August 13, 1938 in Goshen, Indiana. Ardyth had served with the Marines during WWII and had owned and operated the Deer Trail Motel in Harrison for 15 years. Ardyth had belonged to the Harrison Chamber of Commerce, and had attended the Clare Church of the Nazarene. Surviving Ardyth is his wife, Manila, 2 sons: Norman Lawrence (Mary) Benson of Saginaw a brother Clynys Benson of Zephyrhills, Fla; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ardyth was predeceased by a son Harold Eugene and a daughter Sharon Ann Benson. Funeral Services for Ardyth will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at l:00 pm at the Clare Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial will be in the Hatton Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for them to distribute as they wish. Arrangements by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, of Clare.
