Leary (Hohendorf), 2001, Harrison, Clare County, Michigan Obituary from the Clare County (MI) Cleaver, July 19, 2001 Bernadine C. Leary (Hohendorf) died peacefully on July 13, 200l, at the age of 85. Se was born and raised in Detroit, MI, the 8th of l0 children (and sole survivor) of Martha and Emil Hohendorf. Cherished memories of her family remained with her throughout her life. She moved to Lansing area with her husband after his return from service in WWII to begin his dental practice and to raise their family. Bernadine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and volunteered there, as well as several other organizations through the years. They spent their retirement years at their summer home on Budd Lake, Harrison. Her beloved husband of 53 years, Michael W. Leary, preceded her in death on July 4, 1991. She is survived by daughter Patricia McMillan, and grandsons Sean and Tim McMillan; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Robert Farrier; grandson Robert D. Farrier and wife Lisa; great-granddaughter Kayla; great-grandson Kody; grandson Michael J. Farrier and wife Carrie, great grandson, Evan; grandson Cristopher Farrier; son and daughter-in-law Michael G. and Carol Leary; grandsons Michael P. and Douglas; sister-in-law Lucille Hohendorf and numerous nieces and nephews. All knew they were very much loved She was an inspiration to those who knew her. She lived one day at a time, kept her sense of humor, counted her blessings, and had a strong faith in God. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, July 21, ll am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Father David W. Hudgins officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5:30 pm Saturday July 21 at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Harrison. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association, South Central Michigan Chapter, 3810 Packard, Suite 240, Ann Arbor, MI, 48108, or to the charity of their choice, in memory of Bernadine.
