Betty Jane (Wesley) Cruse was born on January 23, 1924 in Detroit, the 
daughter of Elmer and Mamie (Goodnough) Wesley. She was one of four 
children, with brother Lynn Wesley; and sisters Dorothy Engler and Verna 
Erkkila. Betty was the mother of two children: son James (wife Patricia) 
Mench of Atlanta Michigan and daughter, Terry Frawley of Florida. On March 
16, 1957, Betty was wed to Eugene Cruse, spending 44 wonderful years 
together.

Betty and her husband moved from Detroit to Harrison in 1990, although they 
owned their home here since 1965. She spent most of her free time with 
family and friends, often visiting her daughter in Florida. Betty was also 
very protective of children and animals.

Mrs. Cruse died on Sunday, July 15, 200l in Clare, at the age of 77. She 
leaves behind her husband, two children, two sisters, six grandchildren, 
and seven great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents and 
brother.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 18, 200l 12-8 pm at Stocking Funeral 
Home. A funeral service was held to celebrate her life on Thursday, July 
19, 200l a ll:30 am at Stocking Funeral Home, with Pastor Warren Graff 
presiding. Burial took place at Pleasant Plains Cemetery in Hayes Township. 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Harrison. 
Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison.
