Bill was the son of Stanley and Helen Burdo of Clare. Born May 23,l9l9. He graduated from Clare High School, class of 1937 Served in the military in World War II as a fighter pilot in China, Burma, and India, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. His wife, Bernadine Burdo of Dana Point, CA; children: Yvonne Everson and Bill Burdo of Los Angeles, Susan Ruffert of Denver, CO and George Burdo of Newberry Park, CA survive him. Bill has seven grandchildren: Suzanne Jensen and Carolyn and Amanda Everson, Brigette Burdo of Clare, Ed Burdo of Ionia, Dan Burdo of Mt. Pleasant, Tony Burdo of Washington State and Tom Burdo of FL. His sisters Clara Barkman and Rose Burdo predeceased him. Bill is how he was known, due to the fact that his father's name was Stanley. Bill joined the Army in 1941 in California, received his training on the West Coast as a fighter pilot. Bill served his time in CBI Flying Tigers as a fighter pilot. After the war, he returned to Clare and was a partner with his brother Dan in the Clare Furniture Co. for several years at which time he returned to California. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be planned in Clare in May.
