The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Obituaries from the Clare County Review, October 24, 1999 Bertha Emaline Clark, 96, of Farwell, passed away Sunday, October 17, 1999 at the Norhwoods Nursing Center. Bertha was born on August 26, 1903, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Whaley) Sowle. She was united in marriage to Ray Clark onf January 17, 1922. He preceded her in death. Bertha was a member of the lake D.A.V. #105. Se also belonged to the Sunshine Club. Bertha is survived by four children: Geraldine Clark of Barryton, Eugene and Maxine Clark of Adrian, Betty Adams of Lake and Chester and Cynthia Clark of Cadilac; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandcildren, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and her parents. Funeral Services for Bertha were held on Tuesday Octobef 19, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the Coker Funeral Home of Farwell with Pastor Latt Edward officiating. Burial was in the Garfield Township Cemetery.
