Harley was born May 28, 1934 in Saginaw County, Michigan, the son of Theodore and Charlet (Simons) Crites. Mr. Crites had resided in Temple for 23 years, moving from Ithaca. He was united in marriage to Ella S. VanBuskirk on June 21, 1975 in Temple. Harley was a body mechanic and a musician. Harley served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife Ella of Temple; one daughter Diane Crites of New Jersey; one brother Harvey Crites of Crystal, Michigan; two sisters, Lorena Morgan of Greenville, Michigan and Alta O"Brien of Hubbardston, Michigan; two grandchilden plus several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Graveside services and internment were held Thursday May 13, 1999 from Fernwood Cemetery, Temple, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home of Harrison.
