Funeral services were held ten o’clock Thursday at the home, Rev. Older speaking the words of sympathy after which the remains were taken last resting place in Cherry Grove cemetery. Deceased was born in Williams county, Ohio. Twenty-three years ago this fall they moved on their farm in Arthur. Industrous [sic], devoted to home and family, he was the most highly spoken of and a very good neighbor. In early manhood he married Miss Elizabeth Bowker of Steuben county, Indiana, unto this union were born ten children of which eight survive as follows: Mrs. Wm. Crawford of Dover, Mrs. James Joslin of East Sheridan, Mrs. E. F. McNeil of this place, Mrs. Frank Foster of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Thos. Johnson of Weidman, Mrs. V. Mattheson of Riverdale, Fred and Chas. Of this place, all of which were present at the funeral but Mrs. Johnson. He also leaves one brother, Samuel, of Reading, three sisters, Mrs. E. Benson of Reading, Mrs. Samuel Crawford of Williams county, Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Cornwell of Hillsdale, Mrs. Benson being present at funeral besides wife and children. He leaves grandchildren and many other relatives to mourn his loss. People from away were Mr. and Mrs. E. Benson of Reading, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foster of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. V. Matheson and daughter of Riverdale and Walter Johnson of Weidman. Much sympathy from the entire vicinity is extended to the bereaved wife and family. Thus passeth away from us our loved one.
