Obituaries from Clare County Cleaver, Harrison, MI, 7-20-2000

Siddona M. Staylor Hilyard Davis, born September 6, 1915, died June 11,
2000.  Siddona was born the daughter of August and Rachel (Colosky)
Staylor.  She married Ralph C. Hilyard November 26, 1932.  He preceded
her in death in 1965.  She then married Torry C. Davis in 1966, he
preceded her in death in 1973.
      Siddona lived in Farwell most of her life.  She worked as a cook
and housekeeper many years.  She was a member of D.V.A., Blue Star
Mothers and Rebeccas.  Her last days were spent at Northwoods Nursing
Home.
      Surviving children: Riley L. Hilyard(Marion) of Clare, Curtis D.
Hilyard (Barbara) of Clare, Robert E. Hilyard (Carla) of Clare, Danny G.
Hilyard (Alice) of Farwell, Katherine (Laurence) Williams of Alma and
Helen (Russell) Gilbert of Marion.  Son Kenneth L. Hilyard preceded
Siddona in 1985; step-son Joseph (Ila) Davis of Clare, William Davis and
Torry Davis, Jr. has also preceded her in death.  Also surviving are 44
grandchilden and 110 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great
grandchildren. Two sisters: Florence Beniska of Mt. Pleasant, Ethel
Riggle of Midland; brother Sidney Staylor of Chesterfield and Otto
Staylor of Florida (preceded).
      Funeral services were held June 13, 2000 at Coker's Funeral Home in
Farwell.  Pastor John Morris of Living Hope Lutheran Church officiated.
Burial was held in Surrey Township Cemetery.
     She will be missed by family and friends.
