Harold M. Delp, age 70, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, June 25,1999at Gratiot Community Hospital of Alma, Mr. Delp was born July 12, 1928 in Detroit, to Carl and Cecilia (Grantley) Delp. Harold was united in marriage to Virginia Gilles on June 20, 1954 in Detroit. Mr. Delp was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church of Harrison, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #2235, Harrison and the St. Athanasius Knights of Columbus, Council #7571, Harrison. Surviving Harold is his beloved wife, Virginia of Harrison, three sons: Dennis Delp and wife Gail of Wyoming, Michigan, Kevin Delp and wife Tamara of Columbus, Ohio and Gary Delp and wife Theresa of Farmington Hills, two daughters, Su Houghton and husband Pete of Novi and Carol Delp-Kurzejo and husband Walter of Rockford, one sister: Loretta Toms and husband Robert of Chandler, Arizona, one sister in law; Debbie Delp of Cincinnati, Ohio, seven grandchildren plus numerous friends and neighbors. Mr. Delp was predeceased by his parents, one brother Charles Delp and his grand daughter, Lauren Lee Kurzeja. The Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, with Rev. Father Stephen Fillion officiating. Interment was in Hamilton Township Cemetery, Harrison. Loyal Order of Moose memorial services were held Sunday, June 27 at 4:00 p.m. Rosary services were held Monday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. by the St. Athanasius Knights of Columbus. The Vigil for the deceased was also held Monday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, under the direction of Sister Roslyn Nowak. Memorial contributions may be considered to the National Kidney Foundation. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
