The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** Obituaries: Dennis Gale VanValkenburg, 2001, Harrison, Clare County, Michigan Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, July 12, 2001 Dennis Gale VanValkenburg was born on December 20, 1929 in Harrison, the son of Ira and Ida (Robbins) VanValkenburg. He was one of four children, with brothers, Don and Walter VanValkenburg; and sister, Lois Peyton. Dennis was a father to two sons, Gregory Alan (Greg) VanValkenburg of Harrison and Randal L. VanValkenburg of Poquoson, Virginia. Dennis lived in Harrison for most of his life. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235 and was collector of model tractors. He enjoyed going to old airplane shows, spending time in his wood working shop and during the past two years he has enjoyed gardening. His family and friends remember his great skill of carpentry. Mr. VanValkenburg died on Friday, June 29, 200l, at the age of 71. He leaves behind his children, two grandchildren, Lori Cooper and Allen Gregory VanValkenburg, both of Houston, Texas; nieces Caralie Beemer and Linda Korman; and many friends. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings. Visitation for Mr. VanValkenburg was held on Sunday, Julty l at 3-8 pm and on Monday, July 2 at 3-7 pm. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 3 at l:00 pm at stocking Funeral Home with pastor Bruce VonWald presiding. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Greenwood Township. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison. jic
