Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, May 10, 200l Dorothy Helene (Stuermer) Reigle was born on March 14, 1919 in Harrison as the daughter of Herman and Anna (Miller) Stuermer. She was one of seven children; with brothers, Richard and Alfred Stuermer and sisters, Verena Cook, Pauline Miner, Flora Walter, and Clara Reigle. In 1938 she was wed to Ullman "Al" Collins in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Together they raised one son, Gary Collins, of Ohio. After Al died in 1968, Dorothy was wed to Sterling Burdette Reigle on January 21, 1972. At that time, she added his four children to her family: sons Mark Reigle of St. Joseph and Paul Reigle of Arizona, and daughters, A. Beth Linton of Midland, and Cheryl Oberlinter of Ithaca. Dorothy taught at township schools mostly in the Harrison area. After Al's death she worked at MacLean's Pharmacy for 13 years. She and Burdette have been spending the winters in Lakeland, Florida since 1978. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, knitting, gardening, reading and loved American History. Mrs. Reigle died on Monday, April 30, 200l at the age of 82. She leaves behind her husband, son, step children, sisters: Verena and Pauline, 12 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, and sisters Flora and Clara. Visitation was held on Sat., May 5, at 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Stocking Funeral Home. A funeral service was held to celebrate her life on Sun., May 6 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Harrison, with Pastor Bob Steward and Pastor Timothy Tanner presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid Michigan Community College. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan.
