Eaton, 67 of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 1992 at the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland. Howard was born on January 16, 1925, in Harrison, the son of Ralph and Inice (Ceager) Eaton. Mr. Eaton had resided his entire life in Harrison. He was united in marriage to Lois L. Price on September 10, 1948, in Clare County. Howard supported Harrison's Resort Industry by building and operating Putt-R-Golf for 29 years. His dedication to his community included twenty years as a Clare County Road Commissioner. He also served as a volunteer fireman and substitute bus driver. He was a life member of the John J. Carton Masonic Lodge #436 of Harrison. Surviving are his wife, Lois of Harrison, three sons, David and wife Tina of Charlotte, Gary and wife Earlene of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and Jeff and wife Janet of Harrison, a brother Charles and wife Alice of Harrison, two sisters, Ruth Allen and husband Dwight of Cincinnati and Esther Hileman and husband Richard of Houghton Lake, six grandchildren plus other relatives and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bruce and Chester Eaton. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 24, 1992, at 3:00 pm. at the First Congregational Church, Harrison, with Mr. William Patch officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison, Michigan. A Masonic Memorial Service was held on Thursday evening from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan.
