The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Christopher James Eaton, son of John and Susanne (Grubb) Eaton was born at West Liberty, Logan County, Ohio, and departed this life March 4, 1927 at the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 4 days. He was one of a family of ten children of whom two survive, Philander Eaton and Daniel Eaton of North Lewisburg, Ohio. He spent his boyhood days in and around the place where he was born. On July 14, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Sylvia Cline of North Lewisburg, Ohio, and to this union eight children were born. Three sons and five daughters. In the year 1889 , he, with his family, moved to Grelton, Henry County, Ohio. He lived in this vicinity until April 1920 when he left his friends and came to Harrison, Michigan. During the winter he has been failing in health and on February 9th, he, with his wife and daughter, Enid, went to spend a few days with his daughter, Mrs. Alice Jesse of Greenwood Township. Two days later he took to his bed and was patiently taken care of by his beloved wife and children until the end. He leaves to mourn their loss his beloved wife and children: Three sons, Roy, Ralph, and Ray, all of Harrison; five daughters, Mrs. Laura Beavers and Mrs. Alice Jesse of Harrison, Mrs. Bertha Shepherd of McClure, Ohio, Mrs. Gale Conrad of Grelton, Ohio and Enid at home; 14 grandchilren; two brothers and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from his home Monday afternoon, with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery at Harrison. Rev. Chas. Kleinhardt held the service.
