Watkins, 2001, Lake , Clare County, Michigan Obituary from the Clare County Review, July 13, 2001 Edmond I. Watkins, age 80, of Lake, passed away on July 10, 2001. He was born on May 31, 1921 in Lake, the son of John E. Watkins and Catherine (Shermerhorn) Watkins. Edmond married Sarah Josephine Sutton on February 7, 1942 in Community Presbyterian Church in Drayton Plains. Edmond attended three colleges: Muskengum College, Sterling College, and Pittsburgh Seminary. He was the pastor of three churches: Lewistown Presbyterian Church, PA for four years, Joslyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, Pontiac for 15 years, and Tecumseh Presbyterian Church, Tecumseh for 17 years. He loved being a pastor. Edmond was a World War II veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands l8 months and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of the DAV Chapter in Lake. Edmond had four children: Larry (Kae) Watkins of Imlay City, John R. Watkins of Providence, R.I., Donald Watkins of Lake, Stephen Watkins of Lake, and four grandchildren: Alisa, Andrew, Tara, and Lara. A memorial service will be held at the Clare Congregational UCC church on July 17, 200l at 3:00 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to the church or charity of your choice. jic
