Ellen L. Lower, age 103, of Clare, passed away Sunday, February ll, 200l in 
Mt. Pleasant. Ellen was born the daughter of George and Anna (Cassidy) 
Munger on July 27, 1897 in Freeland. She married Herman Lower on May 17, 
1916 and he predeceased her in 196l. Ellen had worked as a cook and 
dishwasher at the Corkey's Restaurant in Clare.

Ellen is survived by three sons: Duane (Doris) of Gladwin, Robert of Clare 
and Roger (Loretta) of Loomis; three daughters, Beatrice Pumford of 
Vestaburg, Myra (Bill) Moore of Midland and Marlene (Lester) Fournier of 
Hale; two daughter-in-laws, Arlene and Bonnie Lower; numerous 
grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ellen was 
predeceased by her parents; two sons, Kenneth and Dale; and a brother and 
three sisters.

Services will take place on Wednesday, February 14 at ll:00 am at the 
Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on 
Tuesday, from 5-9 pm. Burial will be in the Midland Memorial Gardens. 
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Mt. Pleasant, 40l S. Main, Mt. 
Pleasant, Michigan, 48858. Arrangements by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral, 
Inc. of Clare.
