Obituaries: Eugene H. Sledz, 2001, Farwell, Clare County, Michigan


Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Review July 13, 200l
Eugene H. Sledz, age 76, of Farwell, passed away suddenly on Saturday,
July 7, 2001, in Clare. He was born on November 24, 1924, the son of
Rudolph and Anna (Zelek) Sledz in Detroit. Eugene married his wife,
Gertrude on September 2 1946. Eugene was a retired self-employed
Carpenter, had served with the US Army during World War II, had been awarded the Purple Heart and was a member of VFW Post 6896 of Detroit.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, Children: Ann Marie
Mcgettrick of Ft. Myers, Florida, Janice Smith of Westland, Alan Sledz
of Livonia, and Angela Martin of Clare; 13 grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Funeral services were held on July ll, from the Stephenson-Wyman
Funeral Home in Clare. Burial was in the St. Cecilia Cemetery.
