(Sowel) Fishel, died October 22, 1999 in San Dimas, CA. She was born April ll, 1919 to Harley and Sylva (Coe) Sowle in Wise Twp. Maxine spent most of her life in Michigan prior to moving to California in 1990. She was involved in church activities and held membership in the Ames United Methodist Church of Saginaw. She attended the LaVerne, Califoria Church of the Brethren until the onset of her last illness. Maxine was active in a variety of patriotic organizations and had held membership in Dames of the 17th Century, Dames of the Court of Honor, the 17th Century Colonial Daughters and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Maxine is survived by two sons Richard (Joyce) and Kent Fishel; a grandson Rick (Shannon) Fishel; a great grandson Charles Fishel and a great granddaughter Peyton Fishel; three brothers Neil (Fran), Gail (Bette) and Lee (Margaret) Sowel. She was predeceased by a sister Beverly and a grandson Brian. Memorial services were held Friday, October 29 at the Cherry Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Gregory Wolfe officiating.
