She was born the daughter of Lawrence and Carrie (Savage) Hinkle, on November 24, 1919, in New Lexington, Ohio. She married Richard Groves on June 14, 1938, in Clare. They had formerly owned and operated the Town and Country and Lone Pine Restaurants in Clare. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Clare. June is survived by her husband Richard, daughters; Rebecca Evans of Gainsville, Fla., Joy and Richard Shilling of Chesaning, and Deana and Jim Joseph of Farwell, a brother; George Hinkle of Farwell; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and her siblings, Clarence, L.D., Jeanine, and Elmo. A celebration of her Life was held on Friday, August 6, at 7:00 pm at the Clare Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Arrangemens were by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare.
