Obituaries taken from the Clare County Review, June 13, 1999:

Richard Grendel, 80 of Lake, passed away Saturday, June 5, 1999 at the
Tender Care Nursing Home in Clare.  Richard was born on August 26, 1918,
he Son of Michael and Anna (Strempek) Grendel.
     He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American
Legion of Wyandotte, Michigan.
     Richard is survived by one sister, Helen Plenta of Riverview,
Mich.; three brothers; Eugene and Betty Gendel of Lake, Leonard and Lois
Grendel of Taylor, Michigan, and Alfred and Amelia Grendel of Gaylord,
Michigan, and many other relatives and friends.
     Mr. Grendel has been cremated and the family held a memorial
service in Dearborn on Thursday, June l0, 1999.  Cremation and
arrangements have been handled by the Coker Funeral Home of Farwell.
