The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** Obituaries: George Pank, 2001, Harrison, Clare County, Michigan Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, July 12, 2001 George Pank was born on April 25, 1925 in Detroit as the son of Alexander and Cecelia (Millos) Pank. He was one of nine children. In 1955, he was wed to Joan Vanhoudt in Hamburg, Michigan. Together they raised three children; sons: Brad (wife Diane) Pank of Australia, Darrell Pank of Fostoria, Michigan; and daughter Dawn (husband Christopher) Pank-Wagner. Geoge entered the United States Army, fighting at the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. He enjoyed helping in the community, playing cards and visiting his old homestead in the Upper Peninsula. Throughout his life,he and his wife were foster parents for l08 children, three times being awaded Foster Parent of the Year Award. Mr. Pank died on June 12, 200l, at the age of 76. He leaves behind his wife; sons, one brother, one sister and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam Wagner and Nichole and Sara Pank. Preceding him in death are his parents ,daughter, and six brothers and sisters. There are no services planned a this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison. jic
