Eaton aaeaton@voyager.net Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, June 14, 2001 Georgette L. (Rochon) Harrington was born on January 9, 1922 in Ontario, Canada as the daughter of Samuel and Bessie (Wright) Rochon. She was one of five children, with brothers, Leonard (wife Helen) Rochon and Jack (wife Pat) Rochon; and sisters, Cecille Burrell and Lilliann Accaccia. On February 23, 1940, Georgette was wed to James A. Harrington in Ohio. Together they raised three children: sons, James L. Harrington of Chicago, IL and Robert (wife Paula) Harrington of Dearborn Heights, and daughter Kimberly (husband Ken) Walls of Livonia. Georgette worked for the Lincoln-Mercury plant in Wayne for 13 years and at Deluxe Lettering for over 15 years before she moved from Lincoln Park to Harrison in 1981. She became an active member of St. Athanasius Church, joining the building committee, Anna J. Guild, working as a server at mass and teaching religious education. She also volunteered at Tendercare Nursing Home in Clare and was an avid dancer. She enjoyed making people laugh, sewing, going for walks, and loved baking. Mrs. Harrington died on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at the age of 79. She leaves behind her husband, children, brothers, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents and sisters. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 7 at 4-8 pm with a rosary service at 7pm. A funeral service was held to celebrate her life on Friday, June 8 at ll:00 am at St. Athanasius Catholic Church with Father Fred Kawka presiding. Burial will take place on Saturday, June 9 at l0:00am at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
