Obituary from the Clare County Cleaver, Harrison, MI Glover "Bob" Gillen was born on August 18, 1918 in Highland Park as the son of Egbert and Louise (Bierbrick) Gillen. On February 20, 1943 he was wed to Rachel Bommer. Together they raised two children: son, Pat Gillen (fiancee Sandra Newberry) of Clare and daughter Ruth Anne (husband James ) Lyons of Indian River. Bob was a well driller for many years and worked for the police and fire department in Saline for many years before moving to Harrison in 1974. Many years ago, he was a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, barbeques, and loved being outside. He spent a lot of time with his son, and will be missed by his whole family. Mr. Gillen died on Sunday, March ll, 200l at the age of 82. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years; children; step-brother, Emmet Kelly of Florida; grand children, April, Dale, Jessica, James Collier, Jason Aldridge, Angela Collier, six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. His parents preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Wednesday, March 14, 2:00 pm with Elder Dale Beavers presiding. There will be a time of visitation starting at l:00 pm on Wednesday. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
