Clare County Review, July 4, 1999
James R. Hays, 87 of Clare and formerly of Johannesburg, died Friday,
June 25. 1999 at his daughter's home in Clare.
     Mr. Hays was born January 30, 1912 in Vienna Twp., moved to
Johannesburg in 1977 and has lived in Clare the past 7 years.
     On October 23, 1937, in Port Huron, he married the former L.
Eleanor Brown; she preceded him in death on June 2, 1992.  The couple
were married 55 years.  Mr. Hays was also preceded in death by two
brothers, Howard and George.
     Mr. Hayes (sic) is survived  by one daughter; Katheryn (Marvin)
Farley of Clare; one son Thomas (Norma) Hays of Richmond, four
grandchildren; Kristine Rashotte, Mary Olrich, Jennifer Hyames and
Heather Hays, and six great grandchildren.
     Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 30,1999 at 12.00 p.m.
from the Hetherton Presbyterian Church, in Vienna Corners (Charlton
Twp).  Burial was in Hetherton Cemetery.
