Oct. 14, 1999 Clifford Charles Hadley, 79, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, October 7, 1999, at his home near Harrison. Cliff was born March 9, 1920, in Middlebourne, West Virginia, the son of Ottie E. and Florence M. (Chisler) Hadley. Mr. Hadley had resided in Harrison since 1958, moving from Newaygo. He was united in mariage to Mona T. Mead on Ocotober 7, 194l, in Marion, Michigan. Mrs. Hadley preceded him in death on July l, 1993. Cliff served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Sun Oil Company in 1982 after forty one years of employment. Mr. Hadley was a member of the First Congregational Church, a life member, past master and former secreary of the John J. Carton Masonic Lodge #436, a member of the Order of Eastern Star #408 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #1075, all of Harrison. Surviving are two sons, James Hadley and wife, Carolyn of Shepherd and Charles Hadley and wife Sharon of Grayling, six grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Hadley and wife Virginia of Columbus, Ohio; a sister Evelyn Hawkins of Columbus, Ohio, a special friend, Mercedes Hadley of Shepherd, plus other relatives and friends. Mr. Hadley was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marion, Marvin and Francis, and a sister, Isabelle. Funeral Services were held Monday October 11, 1999, at ll:00 am from the First Congregational Church, Harrison, with Rev. Robert Kauffman officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Plains (Hayes Township) Cemetery, Harrison, Michigan. Military Honors were conducted by officers and members of the VFW Post #1075, Harrison, Masonic and Eastern Star Memorial Services were held Sunday evening at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to MidMichigan Hospice of Clare County or the American Cancer Society, Clare County.
