Just at the dawn of Easter morning Mrs. Hugh Henderson of Dover passed away to those realms beyond the reach of human kin. Heart failure resulting from the shock of severe scalding was the cause of death. Three days before her death she had a syrup can partially filled with water on the stove. Moving it to a table she started to remove the cover which was on tight, when the expanding steam along with water for forcibly ejected against her face, badly scalding it. The shock was such that death resulted. The funeral occcured from the Dover church Wednesday, Elder Lown preaching the sermon and interment was made at Cherry Grove. Etta Nowlen-Henderson was born at Spencer in Kent County in 1882. When young she came with her parents, Mr & Mrs. W. C. Nowlen to Clare County and settled in Hatton Township. A year ago the family moved to Dover. Less than a month ago she married Hugh Henderson and at the time of the accident they were occupying a part of the house where her parents resided at Dover.Three brothers survive. Just when life seemed most inviting the bride of but a few short week has finished life's career. The sympathy of all is with the young husband and her parents in the hour of sorrow.
