HENDERSON PASSES AWAY AT FARM HOME FRIDAY Clare County Pioneer had lived here past fifty years. The people of Clare and vicinity were saddened Friday when the sad News spread rapidly that Mrs. James Henderson had passed to her final resting place. She was one of the pioneers of this county, having come here in 1891 and helped carve the home out of the wilderness. She passed through all the hardships of the early years when luxuries were almost unknown. She was a kind friend to everyone and in time of need she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. Alice Mae Henderson daughter of Tilden More and Mary Ann More was born on February 7, 1866 in Bonham, Texas. When at 3 weeks of age her parents moved to LaCrosse,Wisonsin, where she met and married James Henderson on November 29, 1886. Immediately following their marriage they moved to Winchester, Tennessee where they lived five years. They came to Clare County in 1891 and have lived here since that time. Five children were born to this union, three daughters and two sons: Jessie Mae who died in infancy, William of Harrison, Earl of Rosebush, Bessie Brown who passed away in 1925, and Anna Davis who lives at the farm home. She leaves three children, eleven grand children, one great grand child; one brother George More at home'; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Brice and Mrs. Ellen Brice of Cowan, Tennessee and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday from the Thurston Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Charles Kleinhardt land interment made in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Those who attended from a distance were: Mr. & Mrs. William Park, Mrs. Hannah Wildman, Clarence Brown, Mrs. Berneda Huzzar and Miss Isabella Huzzar and Mrs. Agnes Elliott from Flint. Miss Lorena Henderson from Grand Rapids. Mr. & Mrs.Nelson Gifford and daughter Nancy Lee from Flushing; and Mr. & Mrs. Dale Lloyd from Detroit.
