This file is located at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/clare/clare/obituary/h53610.txt Obituary in Clare Sentinel November 1975: EARL HENDERSON Earl Darcy Henderson 83, of 5775 Battle Road, Clare, died November 27 at his daughter's home, north of Mason, Michigan, following a long illiness. He was born son of James & Alice Henderson August 25, 1892. As a Young man he worked as a lineman for the Michigan Bell Telephone Co. and later joined his father and worked a farm north of Clare. Earl was married to Ellen Van Conant, November 24, 1919 at the First Methodist Church Parsonage in Mt. Pleasant. The couple made their home on the Ott farm south of Clare in 1920 and worked the farm for four years. In 1924 they moved to the Walton farm and later returned to their homestead Clare where they resided until 1973. After Earl's retirement they made their home with their daughter and husband in Mason, Michigan. Earl was a member of the Clare Oddfellow Lodge No.333, Clara Rebekah Lodge No. 167 and the Gleaners. They attended the Clare Methodist Church. One daughter, Lorena preceded her father in death in 1964. Surviving are his wife, Ellen: 1 daughter Valdeen Warren, Mason and 4 grandchilden; 9 nieces & nephews. Oddfellow services were held from the Chapel of Brokering Funeral Home Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. from the Chapel on Monday December 1, Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
