Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, June 8, 200l

Joanne J. La Cross, age 69, of Lake, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, June
5, 2001 at her home. She was born the daughter of Stanley and Catherine
H. (Gaida) Ryniewicz, on August l5, 1932, in Detroit. She married
Clement J. La Cross on June ll, 1955, and he preceded her in death on
April 3, 200l. Joanne and Clement, along with his brother had owned and
operated the Lake Sales and service Vacuum Cleaner Center in Lake. She
had lived in Lake for the past 31 years after moving here from Lincoln
Park. Joanne was a member of the Lake Aeire of Eagles, the DAVA and the
VFW auxiliary of Farwell.


She is survived by her son Tom and Julie LaCross, daughter Mary
Hillman, and Carol and John Guzowski, all of Lake; her sisters Barbara
Allen, Geraldine (Richard) Rown, Carol (Clarence) Wysocki, and Loretta
(Jack) Nigohosian. Also surviving are four grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, Joanne has been cremated. Arrangements
were by Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home of Clare.
