Eaton aaeaton@voyager.net Obituary from Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, May 17, 2001 John Rex Hudson was born on April 17, 1919 in Clare as the son of John and Elizabeth (Grover) Hudson. He was one of three children: brothers, Howard and Benjamin "Grover" Hudson. In 1939, Rex was wed to Anna Halisek. Together they had two children: Gary (wife Vicki) Hudson of Harrison and Maryann J. Hudson of St. Ignace. After Anna's death in 1976, Rex was wed to Phyllis Waddell on April 18, 1992 in MacArthur, West Virginia. Their marriage added two more children to Rex's family: Matthew Stanley of West Virginia and Diane Hughes of Pennsylvania. Rex moved from Owosso to Harrison in 1953 where he became a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #354l. Since 1993, he has spent half of the year in Harrison and the other half in West Virginia. Rex enjoyed fishing, hunting, eating, camping, traveling and loved working. Mr. Hudson died on Friday, May ll, 2001 in Beckley, West Virginia at the age of 82. He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis, children, Brother, Howard; grandchildren, Jennifer Jessica and John Hudson, Kathryn, Rebecca and Jonathan Stanley and Craig Hughes. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Anna, and brother, Grover. Visitation for Mr. Hudson will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 5-7 pm with a Moose and Eagles service at 5:30 pm. A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life on Thursday, May 17 at ll:00 am at Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Beavers presiding. Burial will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
