The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Obituaries from the Clare County Cleaver, Harrison, MI, October 7, l999 Winnie Marie Ketchum, age 82, of Farwell, passed away on Thursday, September 30 at Northwoods Nursing Center in Farwell. She was born the daughter of Christopher and Josephine Green, and later adoped by George and Mary (Madison) Chappell. She married Roy Dixon in 1935, and later married Elmer Ketchum in 1944, he preceded her in death in 1986. She had worked as a Nurses Aid at the former Ardis Nursing Home in Farwell, and as an assembler at Evart Products. Winnie is survived by her children and their spouses; Vern and Melba Jean Dixon, and Warren and Carl Dixon, of Farwell, Elmer and Billie Ketchum of Kalkaska, Dorothy and Joseph Manley, and Nancy and Mike Thrush, of Farwell, and Ila and Kenneth Kala of Barryton; a brother Kenneth Green, sisters: Ethel Gleason, Lillian Wilkerson, Iris Brown, and Dora Arnold. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers Alex, Jeff Willey, and Pete Green, and a sister Mary Hildebrandt, a grandson, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 pm from the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare, with Elder Dee Beavers officiating. Burial was in Surrey Twp. Cemetery. Memorials are to Northwoods Nursing Center Activities Dept. for Birds and Birdseed.
