Eaton aaeaton@voyager.net Obituary from the Clare County (Michigan) Cleaver, June 14, 2001 Kathleen F. Sartori, age 80, of Harrison, Michigan (formerly of the Saline area) passed away Sunday, June 3, 200l at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in Clare. Kathleen was born the daughter of Albine and Amelia (Carlson) Anderson, on February 25, 1921 in Northport, Michigan. Kathleen had lived in the Northport area where her Father was a Commercial Fisherman, before moving to the Ann Arbor area during WWII to work to support the War Effort. She met and married her husband John Sartori after the war and moved to the Saline area. He predeceased her on January 30, 1983. John had served in WWII and belonged to the American Legion Post #l in Paris, France. Kathleen was very proud of the fact that she had worked for over 30 years at the N.S.K. Hoover Bearing Manufacturing Division in Ann Arbor. Kathleen was a Committee Person Representative for the union. She was a strong activist for workers rights, she on numerous occasions put tthe need of the workers above her own. Kathleen retired at age 62; after her husband John's death she moved to Harrison in 1985. Kathleen was on numerous bowling leagues and won many trophies for her bowling abilities. Throughout all of Kathleen's many activities she was still able to be a homemaker while working full time. Kathleen is survived by her son Dennis (Evelyn) Sartori of Plainfield, Illinois; a sister Margaret "Peg" Verrreau and a grandson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins, In keeping with Kathleen's final wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial luncheon is being planned at the American Legion Post in Saline, Michigan on July 7, from noon to 3 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Cremation was arranged by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare.
