Times News, August 31, 1933 Isaac Lansing, one of the pioneers of Herrick was killed August 17, when his car in which he and Earl Baldwin, who was working for him was struck by a train on the crossing just east of their home. Mrs. Lansing, with his wife and daughter Marjorie, had just returned home from an extensive trip through Canada. Earl Baldwin was taken to Bronstetter hospital at Mr. Pleasant. He is in a critical condition. The funeral for Mr. Lansing was held at the home Sunday afternoon Rev. Lockyer officiated. The many beautiful floral offering and a host of friends from Clare, Mt. Pleasant surrounding cities and neighborhood gave testimony to the high regard in which Mr. Lansing and family were held both in their immediate neighborhood and elsewhere. He leaves his wife and daughters, Mrs. Amber Dawson, of Detroit and Marjorie Lansing, who teaches in Saginaw to mourns his death. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were, Mrs. N. Phillips of Clinton, Ontario, Mrs. Edward Ball and Mrs. Robertson of Auburn, Ontario. Sidney Lansing and Frank Raiphby of Auburn, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Schultz of Detroit, James Lansing of Steamer Perseus, Bernice Lansing of Stering, Illinois, Stanley Lansing of Lansing. Mrs.Lee Pererson of Geneva, Ohio, Lansing DeGeer of Midland, Mrs. Lucy Carr and Mrs. Jessie Boynton of Mullet Lake, Mr. and Mrs. H. Stevenson of Flint.
