K. Leis, age 79 of Farwell, passed away Monday, Octonber ll, l999 at the Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. Emil was born the son of Wilhelm F. and Emily (Stoll) Leis on May l3, 1920 in Holzern, Germany. He married the former Denise Haring on March 29, 1940 in Clare. Emil played bass for the Band North County 4, he played the Bass for over 50 years. He worked as a roughneck in the oil fields, was a farmer, and worked as a custodian for the Clare Public Schools. Emil is survived by his wife, Denise; a son Roger (Mariann) Leis of Clare; 2 daughters Anita (Donald) Herkel of Farwell and Carol (Tom) Hynen of Beulah; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Emil was predeceased by his brother William. Vistation was held Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare, cremation to follow.
