She was one of three children, with sisters: Margie (husband John) Hauler and Gwen (husband Louie) Mecho. On April 29, 1944, Phyllis married the love of her life, Robert McClellan, at Selfridge Air Base in Macomb County, Michigan. Together they raised two sons: James McClellan of Harrison and Frederick McClellan of Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Detroit Phyllis was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit on February l, 1931 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Phyllis and her husband moved from Mt.Clemens to Harrison in 1967 where she became a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans, Women's Club, and a member of the choir at St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed arranging artificial flowers, traveling with her husband and taking care of her family. Mrs. McClellan died on January 14, 200l, at the age of 76. She leaves behind her children, sisters, grandchildren: Jennifer (husband Joel) Jozwiak, James, Erick, Nathan and Chad McClellan and great granddaughger Lacey McClellan. Preceding her in death are her parents and husband in July 1999. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Stocking Funeral Home, with a funeral service to celebrate her life on Thursday, Jan. 18 at ll:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan.
