Obitaries from the Clare County Cleaver, Aug. 5, 1999

Hubert L. "Bud" Mendenhall, age 85 of Clare, passed away at his home on
July 28, 1999.  He was born the son of Elkanaha and Gertrude (Harris)
Mendenhall, on January 22, 1914 in Crawfordsville, Ind.  He married the
former Elizabeth Crawford in Houghton Lake in 1946.  Bud had lived in
the Clare area since 1953, he had been a member of the Masonic Lodge
#579 in Houghton Lake.  He had been employed as a Dairy Salesman prior
to retirement.
     Bud is survived by his wife Elizabeth; 2 daughters, Carol Lee
Alexander and Diane Marie Samuels, his grandchildren and family.
     Cremation has taken place with burial later in the Cherry Grove
Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of
Clare.
