Dorothy Elizabeth Mondeau Merrihew, 75 of Harrison, passed away Sunday, November 28, 1999, at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center, Clare, Michigan. Dorothy was born December 13, 1923, in Detroit, the daughter of George and Christine (Schebel) Rosbury. Mrs. Merrihew had resided in the Harrison area since 1973, moving from Taylor. Sjhe was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 404 of Harrison. Mrs. Merrihew was a beautician. Dorothy E. Mondeau was united in marriage to Russell C. Merrihew on June 8, 1985, in Harrison. Surviving are her husband Russell of Harrison; four sons, William Mondeau and wife Cynthia of Howell, James Mondeau of Taylor, Thomas Mondeau and wife Mary of Harrison, and Raymond Mondeau and wife Lauri, also of Harrison; seven grandchildren, 10, step grandchildren, three stepdaughters, Julia Klein and husband Leonard of Washington, MI, Christie Cahalan and husband Thomas of West Newbury, Vermont, and Magaret Hayse and husband Ralph of Centerline, MI. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Mondeau, her parents, two brothers, Hursel and Howard and two sisters Olive and Florence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 10, 1999, at ll:00 am from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Father Daniel Nowak O.F.M. officiating. Interment was in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Miliary Honors were conducted by officers and members of the Harrison American Legion Post 404.
