Marie (Cooper) Johnson was born December 9, 1919 in Norwich, Canada, as the daughter of George and Nellie (Barham) Cooper. She was one of four children, with two brothers surviving; Winfred (wife Joan) Cooper and Norman (wife Marge) Cooper. On April 13, 1940, she was wed to Ralph Johnson. Together they raised three children, son: Ralph "Doug" Johnson of Brooklyn, MI and daughters: Dianne (husband Norman) Mercier of Harland and Mary Marcucci of White Lake. While living in Livonia, Marie worked as a dairy manager at Farmer Jack and was member of the Yacht Club in Keego Harbor. She moved to Harrison in 1973 where she became a member of the 20 Lakes Antique Engine and Tractor Club and St. Athanasius Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, sailing, reading and bird watching. Mrs. Johnson died on Friday, January 26, 200l at the age of 81. She leaves her husband of 60 years, children, two brothers, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents and one brother. Visitation was held on Sunday, January 28 at 2-4 and 6-8pm,with a rosary service at 7:30 pm at Stocking Funeral Home, with a funeral service to celebrate her life on Monday, January 29, at ll:00 am at St. Athanasius Catholic Church.
