W. ORVIS DIES AT MARION HOME OF FLU ILLNESS Is Survived By Family of Eight Children, Six at Home Marion Review, June 30, 1932 MARION, June 29–Claud W. Orvis, aged 53 years, died Friday morning after an illness following the flu. He leaves eight children: Mrs. Marjorie Pritchard, of Sylvan; Mrs. Siverene Tower, of Marion; Herbert, Wesley, Roland, L. D. And R. D. (twins) and Jennie Pearl, all at home; four sisters: Mrs. Della Gerow, of Loomis; Mrs. Gertrude Langworthy, of Owosso; Mrs. Ethel Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Mary Gerow, of Clare; five brothers: William, of Little Rock; John, of Battle Creek; Bert, Eugene and Irvin, of Clare. His wife died four years ago. Mr. Orvis was injured twenty-nine years ago last December near Farwell, when logs crushed his lower limbs, so that he used crutches ever since. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Middle Branch Town Hall, and burial was made in the Middle Branch Cemetery.
