Clare County Cleaver - 25 November 1999
Robert Henry Peel, 82, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, November 20,
1999 at his residence.  Robert was born March 20, 1917 in Stanwood,
Michigan, the son of Melvin and Ora (Harper) Peel.

Mr. Peel had resided in the Harrison area since 1986, moving from
Traverse City.  He was employed by and retired from IBM as a customer
engineer.  Robert was a past member of the Traverse City Exchange Club.
Robert H. Peel was united in marriage to Lillian M. Sumner on June 18,
1939 in Lansing.

Surviving are his wife Lillian of Harrison; three daughters,
Marjorie Wales and husband Terin of Harrison, Sharon Ouwerkerk and
husband Larry of Wooster, Ohio, and Linda Stone and husband Richard of
Kingsley; three sons, Steven Peel and wife Judy of Elk Rapids, Thomas
Peel of Harrison and Gregg Peel and wife Mary of  Traverse City; eleven
grandchildren, fifteen greatgrandchildren; plus oher relatives and
friends.  Mr. Peel was preceded in death by his parents and a brother
Glenn Russell Peel.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23, 1999 at l:30 pm
from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Robert Kauffman
officiating.  Cremation followed at North Central Michigan Crematory,
Marion, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made to either MidMichigan Hospice
or
C.A.P.D. of Alma.
